Terms of Service

Effective date: September 12, 2026 · Version 2026-09-12

These terms are written in plain language on purpose — we want you to actually read them. This is a beta draft prepared by the Dripfolio team and it has not yet been reviewed by an attorney; items still requiring legal review are clearly marked on this page.

1. Acceptance

By creating a Dripfolio account, using the demo, or otherwise using the service, you agree to these Terms of Service and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Dripfolio. When you register, we record the version of these Terms and of the Privacy Policy that you accepted.

2. Eligibility

To use Dripfolio you must:

  • be at least 18 years old;

  • reside in the United States, because the service is currently intended for U.S. residents only; and

  • provide accurate account information: your name and a working email address.

You confirm these requirements when you register or request the demo. Dripfolio relies on your confirmation and does not independently verify your age or residency. During the beta, registration may require an invitation.

3. Beta and availability

Dripfolio is in beta. Features may change, be added, or be removed as the product matures. Access may be limited to invited users, and early-access invitations are issued at our discretion. The service may occasionally be interrupted, slow, or unavailable. We work to keep Dripfolio reliable, but we do not promise uninterrupted availability during or after the beta.

The demo

The demo shows sample portfolios with market data from the same providers as the application. It is a preview, not an account. Demo access expires seven days after it is granted and may be revoked earlier. The sample portfolios are not real holdings and must not be treated as investment information.

4. Your account and responsibilities

  • Keep your password, verification codes, and recovery codes confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account.

  • Where the service offers an authenticator app, remembered devices, or other security features, you are responsible for how you use them. Remove a remembered device you no longer control.

  • If you suspect unauthorized access, tell us promptly through the support ticket system.

  • Accounts are personal. Do not share an account, register more than one, or use another person's account or invitation.

  • We may suspend an account to protect the service or other users, for example in response to abuse or a security threat.

5. What Dripfolio is

Dripfolio is a U.S.-only, read-only investment portfolio tracking and dividend analytics service. Depending on your plan, you can:

  • create manual portfolios and record holdings, buys, sells, and received dividends yourself;

  • import portfolio or transaction information from CSV files exported from your brokerage;

  • connect supported brokerage accounts through Plaid, where available, for read-only holdings syncing and optional transaction history import; and

  • view analytics such as portfolio value, dividend income, yields, charts, and projections, built on market data from third-party providers.

Plans and billing

Some features and limits depend on your plan, including whether brokerage connections are included, how many portfolios, securities, or connections you may have, and how fresh your market data is. Current plan details are shown in the app.

If you purchase a paid plan:

  • Stripe processes your payment. Prices are shown in U.S. dollars in the app at the time of purchase and do not include taxes. If we are required to collect a tax on your subscription, it will be shown at checkout and on your invoice before you pay. Otherwise, you are responsible for any tax that applies to your purchase.

  • A subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period, monthly or annually as you chose, until you cancel it.

  • You can cancel from your billing page. A canceled subscription stays active until the end of the period you already paid for, and you may resume it during that time. Cancellation does not refund the current period.

  • If you change plans, the change takes effect immediately. Stripe settles the prorated difference for the rest of the current period as a charge or a credit.

  • When a paid period ends without renewal, your account returns to the current default plan. Nothing is deleted. If the default plan does not include brokerage connections, any active connections are disconnected and your imported data is kept.

  • We do not offer refunds for partial periods except where the law requires it or at our discretion.

We may change prices or plans. A price change for an existing subscription takes effect at a later renewal, after notice.

6. No trading or custody

Dripfolio is informational only. Dripfolio does not:

  • execute, place, or route trades;

  • hold, custody, or control your investments;

  • hold customer funds or money of any kind;

  • deposit, withdraw, or transfer funds;

  • control your brokerage account; or

  • collect your brokerage username or password. Optional connections are authenticated directly with your institution through Plaid.

Dripfolio is not a brokerage, bank, investment adviser, financial planner, tax adviser, legal adviser, custodian, or payment or money-transfer service.

7. No investment, tax, or legal advice

Everything in Dripfolio, including values, yields, projections, charts, and every other figure, is provided for informational and educational purposes only. Nothing in the service is a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any investment, and nothing in it is investment, tax, or legal advice. You are responsible for your own decisions. Consult a qualified professional where appropriate.

8. Market data and estimates

Please understand how our numbers work:

  • Market data comes from third-party providers. How current your prices are depends on your plan: end-of-day closes, or prices refreshed periodically during market hours. Prices are the most recent value our provider returned, not a streaming feed, and Dripfolio does not provide real-time data.

  • Provider data can be incomplete or contain errors, and some securities may have no data at all. When the service cannot determine a figure, it shows that the figure is unavailable rather than showing zero.

  • Projections are estimates driven by the assumptions you set. They are not forecasts, and no scenario is a guarantee. An average shown in the service is an average, not a payment schedule.

  • Yield figures, portfolio value history, average cost, realized gain estimates, and similar analytics are estimates built from the data available. They can differ from your brokerage's figures. For example, Dripfolio's average cost is a tracker average that includes fees, not a tax cost basis, and the service does not track tax lots.

  • Transactions you record are kept as an append-only history. A mistaken entry is corrected by voiding it and recording a replacement, and the voided entry remains visible.

Verify anything important with your brokerage or another authoritative source before acting on it.

9. Third-party services

Dripfolio relies on third-party services to operate, including Plaid for optional account connections, Stripe for payments, market-data providers, email delivery providers, and hosting infrastructure. These services have their own terms and privacy policies. We do not control them and do not guarantee their availability. Your use of Plaid Link and Stripe checkout is also subject to their terms.

10. Acceptable use

Use Dripfolio for your own portfolio tracking. You may not:

  • attempt to access other users' data or any part of the service you are not authorized to use;

  • interfere with or disrupt the service, or probe or test its security without our written permission;

  • abuse the service with automated traffic, scrape it, or attempt to circumvent rate limits, usage limits, plan limits, or the demo's limits;

  • share, forward, or resell demo access links, invitations, or account access;

  • upload malicious files or content;

  • use another person's financial information without their authorization;

  • misrepresent your identity or eligibility; or

  • use the service for anything illegal.

11. Your content and data

The portfolio information you enter or import is yours. You grant Dripfolio permission to store and process it only as needed to operate, secure, and improve the service, as described in the Privacy Policy. Dripfolio does not claim ownership of your portfolio data.

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter or import, including CSV files. The service records what you provide and cannot verify it against your brokerage. You can export your recorded activity from the app.

If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without obligation to you.

12. Intellectual property

Dripfolio's software, design, branding, and original content belong to Dripfolio and are protected by law. This does not include your data, which is yours, or third-party content such as market data, which belongs to its providers. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute the service or its content except as these Terms allow.

13. Suspension and termination

You may stop using Dripfolio at any time. Self-service account deletion is not yet available during the beta. You can request account closure through the support ticket system or the privacy contact shown below.

We may suspend or terminate an account, or revoke demo access, for misuse of the service, a security threat, non-payment, or where the law requires it. Where practical we will tell you why.

When an account closes, a paid subscription does not renew, and no refund is owed for the remainder of the current period unless the law requires one. Data handling after closure follows the Privacy Policy. Sections 6 through 8 and 11 through 19 survive termination.

14. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available" while in beta. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be error-free or uninterrupted, or that any figure it displays is complete, accurate, or current. Beta software has rough edges. Keep your own records with your brokerage.

15. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Dripfolio and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, for lost profits or lost investment opportunities, or for losses resulting from investment decisions made using information shown in the service.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for all claims arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amounts you paid to Dripfolio in the twelve months before the claim arose and one hundred U.S. dollars. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

16. Indemnification

If your misuse of Dripfolio, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of another person's rights causes a claim against Dripfolio or its operator, you agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from the resulting costs, including reasonable legal fees.

17. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the product evolves. We publish each update with a new version and effective date. For material changes we will give notice by reasonable means, such as a notice on the site, in the app, or by email. Continuing to use Dripfolio after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the service and request account closure.

18. Governing law

These Terms are an agreement between you and the operating entity identified in the contact section below. The governing law and business entity details are shown there as they are configured.

General terms

  • If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.

  • Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.

  • You may not assign these Terms. We may assign them to a successor in a merger, acquisition, or other business transfer, with notice where the law requires it.

  • These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the service.

19. Contact
